What is HIV? And what is the difference between HIV and AIDS?
DHIV Hair transplantation
HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) is a type of virus which destroys white blood cells called lymphocytes when it enters into our bodies. It will not cause any symptoms until the level of the white blood cells is reduced to the point that it cannot protect our bodies from outside organisms which may take up to 10 years. And when this happens, it is called Acquired ImmunoDeficiency Syndrome of AIDS. So HIV infection is one of the many causes that will lead to AIDS.
With an advancement in modern medicine, HIV-infected patients can live their lives normally as long as they take care of themselves and continuously take anti-virus medicine. But still, both HIV-infected and non-HIV-infected patients can suffer from the effect of DHT hormone causing them to have thinning hair. With an increased risk of wound infection in HIV-infected patients, BEQ Hair Clinic has developed a hair transplantation technique specialized for these patients, DHIv.
Special consideration
before Hair Transplants
In this group of patients may have a higher risk of wound infection than non-HIV-infected patients. There are two blood tests that should be done to evaluate the risk. The first is CD4 count which is the level of affected white blood cells, we want this test to be as high as possible. The second is viral load (VL) which is the amount of the virus in the blood, we want this test to be undetectable.
DHIv
is the next stage for Hair Transplants
DHIv is a procedure created by BEQ Hair Clinic specifically for persons afflicted with not just HIV, but also with other infectious illnesses such as hepatitis C or hepatitis B. To limit the risk of infection, this procedure uses less blood flow than the standard DHI approach and requires less time to grow the hair.
This is an innovation that makes use of technology to ensure that the results acquired are not compromised. Furthermore, all medical equipment used in hair transplants must be removed promptly after the procedure is performed. As a result, you may be certain that every piece of equipment is new for that patient’s case exclusively. For those who are easily contaminated. For those who are easily contaminated. Rest confident that the DHIV hair transplant process will specifically address the needs of infected individuals. Of course, from the beginning to the end of the hair transplant procedure.

DHIvHair Transplantation
Other than HIV-infected patients, patients, who are infected with other viruses such as hepatitis B virus or hepatitis C virus, can also get benefits from this technique. There are 4 special features of this technique:
Special hair graft extractor
It is unavoidable that hundreds or thousands of wounds will be created in hair transplantation. So we use an extractor size as smallest as possible, sharp and thin wall to create the smallest wounds, control bleeding to minimum, all for promoting faster wound closure
Special hair graft holding solution
A special formula which is 40% more concentrated to lengthen the life of hair grafts.
New and advanced instruments
DHIv, a hair transplant technique using special hair graft extractor
Solution for faster wound healing
The healing process can be 1 time faster than normal. It is very suitable for patients with higher risk of wound infection.
The DHIv technique is a hair transplant procedure that extracts and implants hair grafts using a specialized, tiny tool with a sharp, fine tip. This procedure requires for special attention and care, as well as medical innovation, due to its unique character. Accuracy and precision are also necessary for this approach to harvest hair grafts with the fewest possible wounds, minimal bleeding, and accelerated wound healing. The grafts are trimmed into the proper size and form after extraction. In order to minimize damage and death of hair follicles and grafts following extraction, it is imperative that the hair follicles be in optimal health. A Bioblade, a blade as sharp as a surgical blade, must also be used to trim the hair grafts in order to facilitate their arrangement to resemble a thick, natural hairline.
To boost survival rates and extend the life of the grafts, they are kept in a BEQ special solution which has characteristics as close to those found in the body as possible in order to support the grafts throughout the waiting period before implantation. This process also accelerates wound healing.
In order to achieve the desired direction and degree of hair graft arrangement with small wounds and blood loss as well as faster healing, a special implanter of the right size for each patient’s hair graft is used in the final stage of preparation for implantation. This helps the hair grafts to be strong, complete, and healthy, as if they are still attached to the body. This stage guarantees flawless, natural results, as if baldness, hair loss, or other imperfections had never existed. Furthermore, we prescribe specific medications for patients who require this specific method of hair transplantation. This is to ensure safety of both patients and medical personnel and to produce the most beautiful, natural-looking results possible.
DHIv Hair Transplantation

The surgeon will trim or shave the hair on the back of the head which is called the Donor Area, an area that is not influenced by DHT hormones to facilitate the graft removal. Then the surgeon will inject your scalp with a long-acting, local anesthesia. You will be conscious throughout the hair transplantation process, but do not feel any pain.

After the local anesthesia takes effect, the surgeon will use the special DHI Implanter with a small 0.6-0.8 mm. tip to carefully remove the hair follicles without affecting or damaging the hair grafts and surrounding hair follicles.

The strip is carefully dissected, trimmed and sorted into follicular units (grafts) by the hair transplant team. Each unit contains a different number of hair shafts and is carefully prepared for the transplantation. We keep the collected hair grafts in a special solution to increase survival rate and growth rate.

For the hair transplantation process, the trimmed grafts are placed in the DHI Implanter and are placed and implanted into the desired area (without prior incision as in FUE technique) without affecting the skin area several times. In addition, it can control the direction and the degree of the implanted hair follicles to give you more natural result compared to traditional FUE technique.
After hair transplantation, our team will close the wounds and put on a hat on patient’s head to cover and protect the implanted grafts from impact on the first day and patient must come back our clinic for the wound dressing on the next day. The doctor will schedule the follow-up visits periodically during the first year.
